Meet Mahi Maru, the 11-year-old British Kenyan karting driver behind Super Mahi Kart®, racing nationally with ambitions of reaching F1 Academy and Formula 1.
About Mahi Maru
Mahi competes nationally in InterMAX karting in the UK and has a clear ambition: to progress through motorsport, reach F1 Academy and ultimately become a Formula 1 driver.
Her journey is built on determination, resilience and the belief that young girls deserve to see themselves represented at every level of motorsport.
Mahi’s Karting Journey
Mahi began karting in 2023 and quickly developed a passion for racing. What started as a dream soon became a serious commitment involving regular training, testing and competition.
After gaining valuable experience in arrive and drive championships, Mahi progressed into owner-driver karting. She now races nationally in InterMAX, competing at circuits across the UK with Nibsport Racing.
Alongside her national racing, Mahi has achieved several victories in the Jamie Chadwick Series, a championship created to encourage more girls to enter and progress through motorsport.
Every race weekend gives Mahi another opportunity to develop her speed, racecraft, technical understanding and confidence.
Experiences Beyond the Racetrack
Mahi’s journey has already created some remarkable opportunities.
She was invited to Maranello to train with Ferrari racing driver Maya Weug and was selected to attend the FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia, where she experienced Cross Car competition.
Mahi has also been selected as an F1 Kids commentator, bringing her knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm for motorsport to young Formula 1 audiences.
Her story has been shared by Lewis Hamilton and featured across entrepreneur Simon Squibb’s network. Mahi also appears throughout Simon’s children’s book, What’s Your Dream? The Workbook, which encourages young people to believe in their ideas and ambitions.
Inspiring Girls in Motorsport
Mahi understands that her journey is about more than her own racing career.
Through Super Mahi Kart®, she shares an honest look at life as a young female karting driver, including the successes, challenges, training, race weekends and work that happens behind the scenes.
Her growing, parent-managed social media community allows Mahi to connect with young racers, families and motorsport fans around the world. She hopes that sharing her story will encourage more girls to try karting and believe that they belong in motorsport.
Mahi proudly carries the Kenyan flag on her race suit, representing her family’s heritage while racing across the UK.
The Road to F1 Academy
Mahi’s long-term goal is to progress from karting into junior single-seater racing and earn an opportunity to compete in F1 Academy.
Reaching that level requires talent, hard work, the right development programme and strong commercial partnerships.
Mahi and her family are building a long-term pathway focused on driver development, national competition, media experience and creating a recognisable personal brand.
